2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
3/4 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
Vegetable oil for frying
For the Vanilla Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Batter:
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until combined. Fold in the diced apples.
- Fry the Fritters:
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Scoop batter (about 1/4 cup per fritter) into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain.
- Make the Vanilla Glaze:
- In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Glaze the Fritters:
- Drizzle the glaze over warm fritters or dip them directly into the glaze. Serve immediately for the best taste
