- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cups (480ml) beef broth
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
- 8 oz (225g) pasta shells or your choice of pasta
- 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Cook the Ground Beef:
- In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if needed.
Sauté Aromatics:
- Add butter to the beef. Once melted, sauté onion until translucent (about 3 minutes).
- Stir in garlic and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
Add Liquids and Pasta:
- Pour in beef broth and heavy cream, stirring well.
- Add pasta and submerge it in the liquid.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
Cook the Pasta:
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is al dente.
Finish the Dish:
- Remove from heat, stir in Parmesan cheese, and mix until creamy.
- Adjust seasoning as needed.
Serve:
- Garnish with fresh parsley.
- Serve hot with garlic bread or a side salad.
Notes
For extra flavor, add red pepper flakes or substitute half-and-half for a lighter version
