Italian Sausage and Pepper Casserole

Description

For the Casserole:

  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Ingredients

Preheat the Oven:

  • Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Cook the Sausage and Vegetables:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage until browned, breaking it into crumbles.
  • Add diced onion, sliced bell peppers, and minced garlic. Cook until the vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes.

3. Combine Ingredients:

  • Stir in the diced tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.

4. Assemble the Casserole:

  • Transfer the sausage and pepper mixture to a casserole dish.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.

5. Bake:

  • Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

6. Serve:
