Ingredients
1 to 2 tablespoons walnuts, toasted and finely chopped
1 slice artisan sourdough bread or your favorite rustic loaf
1/4 cup high-quality cottage cheese, preferably whole milk for richness
1 to 2 tablespoons fig jam (look for one with minimal added sugars)
A light drizzle of raw honey or hot honey, to taste
Instructions
Toast walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat, stirring often, for 3–5 minutes until fragrant and golden. Chop and set aside.
Toast the sourdough slice to desired crispness using a toaster or grill pan.
Spread cottage cheese evenly across toast, creating gentle ridges.
Dollop fig jam on top and swirl it lightly into the cheese.
Drizzle with honey and sprinkle over chopped toasted walnuts.
