  • Biscuits:

    • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

    • 2½ cups all-purpose flour

    • ¼ cup granulated sugar

    • 1 tbsp aluminum-free baking powder

    • ½ tsp salt

    • 1¾ cups buttermilk (plus more if needed)

    • 1½ cups fresh blueberries

  • Glaze:

    • 1 cup powdered sugar

    • 23 tbsp milk


Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:

    • Preheat to 450°F (230°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.

  • Melt Butter:

    • Melt butter and pour into the bottom of the baking dish.

  • Make Dough:

    • In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

    • Add buttermilk and stir until sticky dough forms. Adjust with extra buttermilk if too dry.

  • Add Blueberries:

    • Gently fold in fresh blueberries.

  • Bake:

    • Spread dough evenly over melted butter.

    • Score into 9 squares with a knife.

    • Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden on top.

  • Make & Add Glaze:

    • Mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth.

    • Drizzle over warm biscuits.

 

  • Serve:

    • Cool slightly, then enjoy warm.

Notes

  • Frozen blueberries can be used—toss them in a little flour before folding into dough.
  • Avoid overmixing to keep biscuits tender.
  • Store leftovers covered at room temp for 1–2 days.
