  • Β½ yellow onion, finely chopped
  • ΒΌ cup hamburger pickles, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ΒΌ teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ΒΌ cup French dressing
  • 2 tablespoons sweet relish
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • ΒΌ teaspoon onion powder
  • β…› teaspoon salt
  • 8 sesame seed hamburger buns
  • 2 cups iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • Additional pickle slices for topping

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the chopped onion, kosher salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Continue cooking until the beef is fully browned and the onions are translucent, approximately 3-4 more minutes.
  • Stir in the chopped hamburger pickles and mix well.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the mayonnaise, French dressing, sweet relish, ketchup, white vinegar, onion powder, and β…› teaspoon salt to create the secret sauce.
  • Add 1 cup of the prepared secret sauce to the skillet with the beef mixture. Stir thoroughly to combine and cook for an additional minute.
  • To assemble each sandwich, follow this stacking order from the bottom up:
    • Bottom bun
    • Secret sauce
    • Shredded lettuce
    • American cheese slice
    • Beef mixture
    • Middle bun (bottom half of another bun)

    • Pickle slices
    • Beef mixture
    • Top bun
