- Β½ yellow onion, finely chopped
- ΒΌ cup hamburger pickles, chopped
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ΒΌ teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- ΒΌ cup French dressing
- 2 tablespoons sweet relish
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- ΒΌ teaspoon onion powder
- β teaspoon salt
- 8 sesame seed hamburger buns
- 2 cups iceberg lettuce, shredded
- 4 slices American cheese
- Additional pickle slices for topping
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the chopped onion, kosher salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Continue cooking until the beef is fully browned and the onions are translucent, approximately 3-4 more minutes.
- Stir in the chopped hamburger pickles and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, combine the mayonnaise, French dressing, sweet relish, ketchup, white vinegar, onion powder, and β teaspoon salt to create the secret sauce.
- Add 1 cup of the prepared secret sauce to the skillet with the beef mixture. Stir thoroughly to combine and cook for an additional minute.
- To assemble each sandwich, follow this stacking order from the bottom up:
- Bottom bun
- Secret sauce
- Shredded lettuce
- American cheese slice
- Beef mixture
- Middle bun (bottom half of another bun)
